The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—used the foes for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could help the party reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to head to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Questers and Strategists tables.
