Approximately 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events impacted the state, generating powerful gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Damage
Homeowners observed large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

State Emergency Services received over five hundred calls for help across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At the height on the previous day, over 28k energy customers in the state were without power.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tomorrow was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across various areas of both areas.
Safety Concern
Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the current weather patterns.
